What a spectacular month August was! I went on one heck of a winning run, and made the most profit in a single month that I've made since I started this site (I tripled my previous best month!).
Part of the reason why I did so well is because I changed my bet/risk amounts from 1% to 2% of bankroll. For instance, last night I was risking $170 per bet, and today I'll be risking $186 per bet. Had I kept it at 1%, I would've risked $85 a bet yesterday, and $93 today.
I'm very comfortable risking 2% per bet because my systems have easily proven themselves, over thousands of bets. If I weren't as confident I am, I would've stuck with risking 1% of bankroll per bet.
I made a total of 159 bets. I went 94-62, giving me a 60.3% win rate. I put a total of $22,526 into action, and made a net profit of $3,415.72, producing a 15.2% yield.
Converting that to units (or points), I risked a total of 159 units, and made a profit of 24.11 units.
I did the best in MLB, and I did the worst in soccer.
I made the most money at BetOnline, and I didn't lose any money at any sportsbooks. I made most of my bets at BetOnline.
My CF system had a stellar month, easily earning back what it had lost over the past couple of months.
I had 33 bets, and went 23-10, giving me a 69.7% win rate. I put a total of $4,663 into action, and I made a net profit of $1,833.04, producing a 39.3% yield.
My live betting system went on a bad run in MLB, and while it recovered most of it at the end of the month, it was still a few units shy of a profit in MLB. However, it did great in football!
As you can see from the sport breakdown below, it did great in both NFL pre-season, and college football. I hope that MLB can bring itself back into profit for the season; it still has another month to go, plus the playoffs in October.
I had 64 bets for my live betting system, and went 34-29, giving me a 54% win rate. I put a total of $8,826 into action, and I made a net profit of $80.25, producing a 0.9% yield.
My WAF system had a really great month, and the initial results for football have been great. I hope they continue on as strong as they have been for baseball and WNBA.
I had 61 bets, and went 37-22, giving me a 62.7% win rate. I put a total of $8,867 into action, and I made a net profit of $1,672.43, producing an 18.9% yield.
I forgot to cancel my quarterly subscription to Banker Bets, so looks like I have this service for another 3 months. Since I'm paying for it, I might as well make the bets.
I only started betting them again the last day of August, and it lost me -$170.
Since I started back on December 5, 2016, I have made a total of 2,523 bets. My total record is 1377-1102, giving me a 55.5% win rate.
I have put a total of $125,413.50 into action, and have made a net profit of $6,922.86, producing a 5.5% return on turnover. My Return on Capital is 313.25%.
Converting that to units (points), I've made a total profit of 139.27 units, which is about a +0.51 unit per day profit (15.5 units average monthly profit).
The average odds of my bets are -105, and my average bet size is risking $49.89.
I have made the most profit in MLB, with MMA coming in 2nd, and NBA trailing in third. NHL has produced the worst return for me, but only because of a really bad handicapper that I went with.
I made the most money placing my bets at BetOnline, and I've lost the most money at Ohmbet. I've made the most of my bets at BetOnline, with Pinnacle coming in 2nd, and 5Dimes in 3rd.
Here's the active systems/handicappers that I'm currently using:
Well, I have been at this for 269 days now. That's an average of 9.4 bets per day. My average daily profit currently sits at $25.74, which is an average monthly profit of $782.79.
As for the Profit Performance graph, just look at that baby. Look at how pretty it is! As more time goes by, the peaks are starting to level off more. The spikes don't look as surprising anymore.
I'm on an incredible run right now, but I also know what's right around the corner. With how sharp of a winning run I'm on right now, I know that I'm eventually going to hit a regression towards the mean. I don't know when. I could go on a 3 month winning streak, and then lose for the next 5. Who knows?
I went on a 3 month losing streak early this year, and that was incredibly tough on me. It taught me a lot, though, and it was something that needed to happen to keep me in check.
I'm really, really excited that September is finally here!
I love football (both college and NFL), and there's so much action going on. Betting on baseball can get a bit boring, because it's such a long season, and there's not always going to be bets every day.
Since football and basketball are both incredibly popular sports that Americans bet on, my systems will have quite a bit of action going on from now until the end of March Madness in college hoops.
I really can't wait to make my first annual post in a few months. It's such a huge milestone for a data/stat nerd like myself. An entire years worth of data!
I was really hoping to start off September with a 5 figure bankroll, but I'm just a little bit shy of that.
I'm incredibly excited that I've managed to turn a $2,000 bankroll into $9,316.86!
It's not the $10,000 that I was hoping for, but it's close enough.
I know that I won't be able to make 5X my money every year. My goal is to double my bankroll every year, and I've certainly done that.
As bet amounts get larger, new problems will present themselves. Eventually, I'll hit betting limits for live betting, and I'll have to start taking precautions to ensure that I'm able to bet at least at those limits, and who knows, maybe I can talk my way into higher limits. Hint, hint, there's only a couple of ways a book is going to give you higher limits.
